On the warehouse shelf the two orders look alike, with three exceptions

After inspection, an agent purchase and a forwarded parcel sit on the same Warehouse page, ready for the same parcel submission, and three differences travel with them.

Mixing both kinds in one parcel

Hipobuy's order-type article ends with a reminder: once both kinds of order are in the warehouse, you can combine them into one parcel or ship them separately, depending on the weight limits and requirements of the line you pick.

Two warehouse rules can still split them. If any item in your selection is restricted for shipping, the restriction applies to the whole selection, and items marked as individually packaged cannot go with anything else. Hipobuy's advice is to pick a line that suits the most restricted item.

Weight matters too. Hipobuy warns that customs treats heavy parcels and many identical items as more likely to be commercial, and its pages put the line at 10 kg, in one place as 'relatively high' likelihood and in another as a firm statement. Read the warning, not a rule.

In practice, wait until everything you plan to send is stored, look at the inspection photos for both kinds, then select them together on the Warehouse page. The parcel page works out shipping from the estimated weight of whatever you select, so you can try a combination and drop an item before paying.

Flow card: agent goods from the seller and forwarded goods from the sender both reach Hipobuy, then leave as one parcel to you

One box does not turn two purchase histories into one

Imagine a Hipobuy-purchased shirt and shoes you bought yourself arriving at the warehouse. Before combining them, check each item’s identity and condition against its own purchase record. The warehouse location may be the same, but who can contact the seller or request a remedy depends on how each purchase was made. Resolve those questions before authorising packing.

Compare combined and separate shipping using the actual contents and packed dimensions. Removing a shoebox can change both volume and protection; adding one restricted item can remove a route for the whole parcel. Consolidation is a packing choice, not a promise of lower cost or a transfer of seller responsibility. Retain each item reference alongside the final parcel record.

The storage clocks

Goods that Hipobuy can match to you, agent purchases and correctly registered forwarded parcels alike, are stored without charge for 90 days, counted from Warehoused. Hipobuy emails before the period ends; after 90 days without a parcel submission or a reply, the goods count as abandoned and are disposed of.

Parcels it cannot match have a shorter clock: 30 days from being signed for, with no reminder because nobody knows whose they are. For forwarding orders that is the strongest reason to check the tracking number on the order page the day you submit it.

Two further lines in the storage rules apply to both: Hipobuy is responsible for goods during storage but not for their shelf life, so perishables are at your risk, and destroyed goods are not announced.

Bar chart of three warehouse clocks on one scale: 120 hours for agent returns, 30 days for unmatched parcels, 90 days of free storage

Exception one: the return window exists only for agent goods

On the shelf, an agent purchase carries a clock that a forwarded item does not: the five-day return, which Hipobuy counts as 120 hours starting at the first full hour after Warehoused. Request it on your order page inside that window; afterwards Hipobuy says the request may not be accepted.

A forwarded item sitting next to it has no such window. If it turns out to be the wrong size, the forwarding terms leave you with the sender or seller, and Hipobuy's only offer is to ship it back to them.

If you are combining both kinds in one parcel, look at the agent goods' inspection photos first. Submitting the parcel ends any chance to return them through Hipobuy.

Exception two: photos are the only check on forwarded goods

Agent goods are inspected against what was bought: Hipobuy's FAQ describes colour, size and visible damage checks on items it purchased, with the usual three standard photos. Forwarded goods are unpacked and photographed for you to confirm, and the forwarding disclaimer tells you to check the items through those photos or buy more.

Both kinds appear on the same Warehouse page, with a quality inspection reminder and a strip of thumbnails under each order. For forwarded goods those thumbnails are your whole inspection, so open each one at full size before you combine anything.

Extra detailed photos cost 1 CNY each for either order type. For a forwarded item that is the cheapest way to check a size label or a serial number before it leaves China.

Exception three: who you go to when something is wrong

For agent goods, problems go to Hipobuy: a return request inside the window, the consulting service button on the order, or an after-sales case after delivery, which Hipobuy says it answers with solutions such as refunds or returns.

For forwarded goods, the forwarding terms send you to the sender or seller. Hipobuy will ship the goods back to them if asked, but the claim is yours to make, in your own marketplace account or with the friend who posted it.

That difference outlasts the warehouse. Once a combined parcel reaches you, a fault in an agent item can still be raised with Hipobuy under its after-sales rules, while a fault in a forwarded item cannot.

Keep the evidence each route needs. For an agent claim Hipobuy asks for photos of the damage or of the size label, and for missing goods the order number plus photos of the packing list, the opened parcel and its weight. A forwarded claim goes to the seller under that marketplace's own rules, so keep the receipt and the chat.

From parcel submission to delivery, the same for both

Submitting works the same whatever the goods' origin: select items on the Warehouse page, enter the address, choose packing and a line, pay. The warehouse packs within 24 hours. Shipping is prepaid on estimated weight; if the final weight is higher you pay the difference, and if it is lower by more than one weight increment the difference returns to your balance within 72 hours of shipping.

Hipobuy disclaimer text: logistics risks, all parcels are carried by third-party logistics providers and the risk is evaluated and borne by you
Forwarding disclaimer (notice 1774730839462576130), logistics risks.

Inspect the parcel with the courier where possible and keep the packaging and evidence. The official texts read on 16 October 2026 use different clocks for different situations: Receipt Information asks for feedback to the local post office within two days after signing when damage or missing contents were not checked with the courier; the after-sales article asks for evidence to Hipobuy within two working days and separately gives 72 hours for missing, damaged or defective goods. The insurance text mentions seven days after signing and 45 days after shipping. Contact the relevant parties promptly and check the wording for your case; these are not one universal deadline.

The logistics risk sentence in the forwarding disclaimer, that third-party carriers carry every parcel and the risk is yours to judge, is printed for forwarding but describes the international leg of agent parcels just as well.

A final check before submitting the parcel

Compare lines using the same destination, item restrictions and parcel dimensions. Check which figure is an estimate, what the line excludes, whether duties are included, and which proof a claim would require. Remove an item from the parcel if it makes every suitable line unavailable; splitting a parcel can change both cost and the cover you need.

If the goods are correct but a measurement is unclear, request the specific photo before paying shipping. If a purchase is wrong, deal with the return first. Shipping the item internationally is a different decision from accepting a warehouse photo.
